Helping communities put Pollinators before Profit

Given our interdependence with all living things, it’s vital we pay attention to bellwether species like bees—and they’ve been dying at an alarming rate.

Here’s What You Can Do as a B Corp Business or Organization:

1. Commit to zero pesticide use around your facilities. (Heck, don’t use pesticides at home either.)

2. Create bee sanctuaries, big or small. Note: Grassy lawns offer no forage for bees unless they include dandelions.

3. Spread the word. Challenge your company’s “food chain” to get involved: from suppliers to customers with the pledge.

4. Buy Bee Bold coffee online and we’ll donate $3 per 12 oz package to support the bee-centric non-profit organization of your choice. Let employees vote for their fave!

New BIA Question

To safeguard bees and restore our ecology, Thanksgiving Coffee Company is teaming up with other B Corps. We invite you to join us!

We propose adding the following question to the next version of the B Impact Assessment.

BEE BOLD COFFEE Program

20% for the Bees! The Bee Bold Coffee Campaign offers a steady funding source for those working for pollinator survival. Bring this full circle into your company. Share it with your employees so they can help save bees with their morning cup.

THANKSGIVING COFFEE COMPANY’S COMMITMENT TO POLLINATOR’S

Starting at the Source - Farmers

Thanksgiving Coffee Company (TCC) sources its Bee Bold coffee from farmer cooperatives. TCC pays a fair wage that allows farmers to use socially and environmentally responsible practices that build community while producing top-quality coffee beans.

Thanksgiving Coffee Company Headquarters and Production Facility

TCC was one of the early B Corps and has been living its values for decades. TCC pays suppliers and employees a living wage, uses landscaping that supports pollinators, and utilizes our coffee to make the world a better place through their “Cause Coffees,” including Bee Bold.

Bee Bold Coffee

TCC understands that saving the pollinators requires a multi-faceted approach. It invites B Corps and others to engage on as many levels as possible. A great place to start is by simply buying Bee Bold coffee because $3 from every 12 oz package supports pollinator-protector organizations.

Customers – You, the B Corp!

When you serve Bee Bold coffee in your break rooms and at your events, your employees and partners can feel good about enjoying delicious coffee that supports a healthy supply chain and saves the bees. Use the Bee Bold Toolkit to promote pollinator protection among employees and vendors.

Pollinators

Protecting the pollinators is essential for life on earth. Using the Bee Bold Toolkit encourages several actions to help bees and other pollinators survive, from increasing forage and decreasing pesticides to adopting policies that protect pollinators and educating those in your sphere of influence so they can take action too.

How Does This Benefit Me as a B Corp?

Ready to Recertify?

Purchasing Bee Bold coffee and following other recommendations in the BeeBold Toolkit addresses B Corp metrics in all measurement areas (Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers). In a nutshell, being a B Corp means building systems that care for all stakeholders—that’s what this is all about.

Employee Engagement – By aligning your actions with your mission, vision, and values, you reinforce what you stand for. The BeeBold Campaign provides you with an opportunity to do this, as well as a pathway for employees to engage with your larger mission. You can allow employees to vote on where to donate BeeBold coffee revenues and/or provide company time to create bee sanctuaries. The options are endless.

Enhances Reputation – Engaging in the BeeBold Campaign publicly reinforces the social and environmental responsibility that defines you as a company to employees, vendors, and all your customers.

Community Engagement – The BeeBold Campaign allows you to give back to your community by supporting local bee-centric non-profits.

Protect Pollinators – By protecting pollinators, going beyond reducing harm to creating positive environmental benefit, you help ensure a healthy food supply now and in the future. No food supply = No humans (i.e., employees, vendors, or customers).
